Anybody can write, but not everybody can write well. Writing is a skill that takes both a natural ability and plenty of practice. Words are one of the most powerful forms of communication. They are capable of shaping people's ideals and values and even have the potential to change the world. That is why it is important to use a professional writer to produce consistent, captivating, result producing documents.
Communication is what makes the world function. Without effective and efficient communication you are going nowhere. The words and documents that represent you are the first impression that people have. In order to be successful, you must present your best at all time. Writing is my passion. Words fascinate me because they can be arranged and rearranged to mean entirely different things. They are beautifully vague and open to interpretation. The power of words is truly amazing. I love my ability to write powerful documents that help shape people's ideas and values about different topics. I have been exploring the art of writing at a higher level for some time and have honed my skills through both my unique life experiences and my ever-expanding writing portfolio. Life has taken me to many unusual spots. I have been an advertising intern in Alaska, a SCUBA divemaster in Thailand, a ski guide in Ski Arpa, Chile, and a ski instructor in Vail, Colorado, Portillo, Chile, and Aspen, Colorado. I have traveled to four continents, over 25 countries, and 49 of 50 states. My extensive travel gives me a perspective on life that not many other people have – a perspective that is incredibly valuable with modern technology's ability to communicate your message to the entire world within mere seconds.
My life has presented me many opportunities that would make me a powerful writing asset to your business. One of those excellent opportunities has been my education. I have been lucky enough to study writing as an advertising major at the University of Colorado at Boulder and as a grad student in professional writing at Chatham University. Studying the art of writing has helped me understand how words work and how best to apply them. My skills have been developed even further through my work as a writer at Porcaro Communications and my current writing job at Originality Writing where I write various documents for numerous name brand clients.
Through my experiences in life, education, and work, I have found that writing is an art that can never truly be mastered. As a writer, I am never done learning about my profession. Writing is a complex subject - always challenging and always enlightening.
My understanding of professional writing will benefit you beyond your wildest imagination. Writing is an action, and every action has ethical and social implications. Ethically, I stand by what I write. I insist that everything I write be honest and that no one be persuaded by deceptive words. I understand that ethics are shaped by the social spaces that surround us and make us who we are as individuals. Therefore ethics are different for everyone. My writing represents both you and me. And I want to present both of us in the best, ethical view possible.
Beyond writing ethically, in my eyes the most important aspect of writing is an in-depth understanding of the audience – your audience. My ambition for success relies on my ability to know the ultimate reader. Before I begin writing I always ask two questions – who am I writing this document for? And, why am I writing this document? Knowing this information allows me to write better documents that are more effective. Starting from the inception of every project, I focus my energy on the end user to ensure a successful final product. Collaboration with everyone involved on the project, or discourse community, is a critical step to accomplish producing documents that are user-centered. This interaction is crucial to both the documents and to your own success.
User-centered documents are the best way to relate to the reader. They not only captivate the reader, but also draw him in and convince him to act. Every document creates a social space that affects the user's relationship with your message, but also molds everyone that is exposed to your message. In essence, they shape opinions, alter lifestyles, and potentially change the entire world. A well-written, rhetorical document will cause your reader to drop everything he is doing and focus all of his attention and actions on your message. This results in the ultimate goal of communication – bringing your message to the people.
Every communication is open to interpretation, and therefore it is impossible to guarantee that any document I write will produce extraordinary results.
